Racist fan to celebrate Indigenous Round in taunts

A stubbornly racist AFL fan says he will try to incorporate positive messages into his mindless racial taunts during this weekend’s Indigenous theme round.

“I’ll be at the Dreamtime At The G game and while I can’t promise to override my stupid, destructive and carbon-dated racist sledges, I’ll attempt to add something positive to my abuse,” Brad ‘Macca’ McLean told thebladder.com.

“Every week I go to the footy, adamant that I won’t resort to trying to use the colour of an opponent’s skin, or his ethnic background, as a tool against him, but I suppose my weak intellectual base and my shallowness as a person makes it just to easy to anonymously yell racial taunts that I wouldn’t dream of saying if I was face-to-face with the same player,” he said.

“I’m sure this weekend will be the same. But what I’ll try to do is yell something positive, like: ‘That was a great mark, you black dog!’ or perhaps: ‘Brilliant play, nig nog!’”

McLean admitted that the presence of children in his immediate seating vicinity probably wouldn’t have any affect on his decision to resort to racial sledging.

“Oh mate, it’s just like the F word and the C word, the R word and the P word. When the whites of your eyes are rolling and you’re foaming at the mouth, 10 minutes into the first quarter, you forget about stuff like whether kids can hear you.

“I don’t have the intellectual capacity, the morality, ethics or self-discipline to consider such matters. Let’s face it, if I used more than point-three per cent of my brain, I wouldn’t be yelling racist stuff in the first place.”
